Venture Martial Arts – Enrichment Program
The Venture Martial Arts Enrichment Program introduces students in grades K-5 to the art and discipline of Taekwondo. This seven week course focuses on developing focus, discipline, respect, and confidence both on and off the mat. Through interactive drills and traditional training, students will gain foundational martial arts skills while building physical fitness and strong character. By the end of the 7 week program, each participant will have the opportunity to earn an official Orange Belt in Shimsan Taekwondo, marking the beginning of their martial arts journey.
Weekly Breakdown
Week 1 – Respect: Introduction to Taekwondo Culture
Learn how to stand, sit, and bow like a Black Belt. Understand the meaning of respect and how to demonstrate it through posture, response, and behavior.
Week 2 – Confidence: Introduction to Kicks and Stances
Develop strong stances and basic kicks including front, round, and sidekicks. Build confidence through teamwork, movement, and goal-based games.
Week 3 – Discipline: Introduction to Self-Defense
Practice self-defense basics such as blocks, breakaways, and safety stances. Learn to protect yourself using voice, awareness, and proper technique.
Week 4 – Focus: Introduction to Hand Techniques
Strengthen concentration through precision hand strikes and partner drills. Begin learning the first sections of Shimsan 1 with purpose and control.
Week 5 – Goals: Introduction to Traditional Forms
Explore the importance of setting and achieving goals. Continue form training, practice board breaks, and prepare for the upcoming graduation.
Weeks 6–7 – Performance: Graduation Focus
Refine all learned techniques. Students demonstrate their progress through a graduation event featuring a board break, uniform presentation, and Orange Belt ceremony.
